This presentation describes how blood tests may be useful for the early detection of cancer. Examples of tests that are currently available will be described, focusing on an approved blood test to detect colon cancer and other tests that are marketed to detect multiple cancers. The potential benefits and the potential risks of these tests will be discussed, highlighting recommended follow-up for those who test positive and those who test negative on new blood tests for the early detection of cancer.
